What A Day!
Today started out as just an ordinary Saturday. I had intended to take a much needed weekend off from writing messages and preparing bible studies and just chill.
God's mercies truly are new every morning. As it turned out, I got to spend the day with all of my favorite girls. Kelly and Miss Ashton came by and I still just can't get over that sweet little baby. She's gotten over the anxiety she had last month about being held by anyone other than her Mommy, and Gammy is soooo...glad. I mean, how can you resist this face?

Ashton was particularly affectionate and cuddly today and it was a slice of heaven. When that precious one laid her head on my shoulder and just snuggled in...well, in that moment, there was just nothing better in my world. We snuggled, we played on the floor. She showed us her new trick of turning over and rotating in a complete circle by using her little legs and arms and turning quite red at times. It's hard work turning 180 degrees on the living room floor when you're all of five months old. But that snuggling part had it all beat by a long shot. I could've stayed that way forever!!

Michelle came by and we sat on the patio. While the girls were chatting I just sat back and thought, "What could be better than this?" My baby girls hanging out with me, while Grandpa had my grandbaby inside. Life seemed so complete at that moment. Every concern, every problem, every troubling situation and all the hard work of the past week just faded away and I thought, "This is what it's all about!"
After Kelly and Miss Ashton left, Michelle settled in with us for a four hour viewing of "Gone With The Wind". We ate pizza and popcorn and peanut butter on bread, in that order. Not very healthy but lots of fun. We should've had ice cream. I forgot about ice cream. My son, Brian came home and I told him what movie we were watching and in his manly voice he said, "I'm sorry". But I am so not sorry....
It may seem like just ordinary events. Nothing special. But this day was oh, so special to me. Thank you Father for lazy days every once in a while and for those we love to spend them with. There was nowhere else in this whole wide world I would've rather been today. A good time was had by all.
