From Nana...

You know I'm technically illiterate, thus 'blogging' far exceeds my capabilities. So, I'll share two thoughts with you.

The first came from a man who was probably my most favorite pastor..he was the kindest, caring person I think I've ever encountered and truly exemplified Christ. His favorite saying was one from St. Francis "Proclaim the gospel always; when necessary, use words".

The second has been on a church marquee in the area for the past month or so; I find that I think of the words frequently (particularly when certain commercials air). "Looking for a Lifeguard? Ours walks on Water!"

I think as we get ready to enter the heavy, heavy political "spin" season and listen to the psycho-babble that spews out of the politicians mouths proclaiming that they alone are ready to save us from ourselves and be our lifeguard, I know Who I'll think of.

Our knowledge, wisdom & discernment must come from the Lord. We need to rely on His knowledge, His wisdom and His discernment. We need to live out His life. Openly, unashamedly. Nothing added…

Why do Sprit filled Christians listen AND FOLLOW the latest “Jesus” thing. Just because someone throws Jesus, or God into a teaching/idea/methodology … it doesn’t make it right. Proverbs says: "Every word of God is flawless; he is a shield to those who take refuge in him. Do not add to his words, or he will rebuke you and prove you a liar." (Proverbs 30:5-6)

Stop twisting His Word to fit whatever floats your boat at the moment. It’s an abomination

As long as we continue to sit passively by and allow the same falsehood(s) fester within our churches, that is behind Christian deterioration of the United States as a nation, our children’s, children’s children will be meeting in basements… that’s if we’ve even bothered to share our faith with them.

Keep preaching the Word Donna… I’m sure you are blessing more than you’ll ever know….
